I was recently invited to the launch of Chanel’s new Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation at John Lewis in Newcastle. I am a big fan of Chanel makeup, but haven’t used any of their foundations for a little while now so I was interested to find out more.
Part of the Les Beiges collection, I was told that this product was quite different to many of their others, offering a much more lightweight finish that can be built up if you’re looking for a heavier coverage.
Unless I am going somewhere special I tend not to wear foundation as I don’t like anything too heavy on my skin. I’ve spent the last few years trying different tinted moisturisers, however I haven’t found anything that I really liked so have kept changing brands, trying to find something that matches my preferences. My consultant at Chanel said that the Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation may offer an alternative option – although I wasn’t sure.
After sitting down and talking about my skin, the healthy glow gel touch foundation was applied and I was really shocked at how it looked. It’s was barely visible on my skin but provided a really nice, healthy glow that I haven’t found with many other foundations. As I mentioned, the product can be built up so I asked the consultant to show me this in a more heavier coverage as I was quite curious to see how it would look.
She did this and although it offered more coverage, it still wasn’t heavy and was completely weightless on my skin.
What I loved more about the product was its packaging. Instead of a traditional foundation bottle, the Chanel healthy glow gel touch foundation comes in a palette, meaning it’s great to pop in your bag to use on the go.
I don’t think I would use this foundation on a night out as I do prefer something a little heavier, but it has now replaced my tinted moisturiser and is my new go-to product for day-to-day wear. I decided to purchase it there and then because I loved it that much. If you are looking for a lighter coverage I’d certainly recommend giving it a try and Chanel offer complimentary applications and a colour match service if you would like to try it to see how you find it. I opted for colour number 50, however after falling asleep in the sun without sun cream on I’m wishing I’d gone a bit darker!
I have added some information about how I apply the product, which is priced at £43, below. Please do let me know if there are any other beauty products you have tried and whether you have tried this product yourself!
How to apply the Chanel Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation
Although this product comes with a sponge, I tend to use a foundation brush to apply it as I find that it provides a better and lighter finish.
I first dab the brush over the mesh to pick up some product. From here, I start lightly applying this with small brush strokes, starting from the centre of my face and working this out towards my ears.
Picking up more product as I go, I then brush the product over my ears and chin, before finishing by blending the foundation over my nose to my cheeks.
I don’t tend to wear much else with this product other than mascara and a bit of lipgloss, making it perfect when you only have limited time!
