It’s been a little while since I did a restaurant review however I felt my recent visit to The Bake One in Gosforth was definitely worth sharing.
The Bake One is a new Lebanese restaurant that has opened on the High Street. It came highly recommended and I can certainly see why.
Offering a sit-in and takeaway service, The Bake One boasts an extensive menu that incorporates everything from curries to Lebanese pastries. I don’t eat red meat, so trying new restaurants can sometimes be problematic, however there was absolutely no way I was going to struggle finding something to eat as there was an array of chicken, vegetarian and fish options available.
For starters we opted for Hummus and Lebanese Bread, Vegetable Moussaka and Falafels with a Yoghurt Sauce. All three were extremely nice.
I was looking for something light for my main course and decided to sample a Grilled Shish Chicken Wrap, which was made up of grilled chicken, garlic sauce, tomato and salad wrapped in a flatbread – the fact that there was nothing left on my plate at the end of this meal speaks for itself.
My mum and husband opted for a Mixed Shawarma Wrap and a Kabsah Lamb, both of which received glowing reviews.
For those looking to try something a little different, The Bake One also offers Parmesans. For those who aren’t familiar with this dish it’s basically a pizza with a chicken breast base instead of dough! I can’t say I’ve tried one but I do know it’s a popular Saturday night takeaway dish.
The Bake One offers a bring-your-own-alcohol service so for those looking for an alcoholic drink it’s best to turn up prepared. There are several shops on the High Street if not however!
I really can’t recommend The Bake One enough and based on the amount of people eating there on a Tuesday night I’m sure it will be there for the long haul. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding the restaurant.
